As you may have been told by your Business Development Manager, an internet connection isn't necessary for Impos to run. However, there are several times that you will need or want the system online:
1. Installation. During the installation process, we will need to download key software onto the hardware that you've purchased. For this to happen, an internet connection at your venue, even a temporary one via a 4G dongle, is required.
2. Support. Should something go wrong or you need something urgently changed, an internet connection will make getting the help you need much quicker and easier. You will be able to access our Learn site for walkthroughs and FAQs, and our Customer Support technicians will be able to remotely access your system in order to rectify or assist if needed.
3. Integrations. With an internet connection, you will have access to a wide range of powerful integrations, from accounting to order-ahead apps to inventory management.
4. Reporting. An internet connection is necessary for our Impos Analytics software to run. Analytics is a real-time, cloud-based reporting suite that allows you to run reports on every key element of your business. Also, our inbuilt Web Reports, available locally on your terminals, are available online if your system is connected to the internet.
